Today I have a solo episode (from my Encouragement Series) on the topic of humiliation and self love, and how to deal with humiliation with eczema. I shared my own personal stories of experiencing humiliation, pain and the embarrassment of going through this.

Here's what I shared in today's podcast:

- Stories of humiliation that have happened to me
- How others have experienced humiliation from eczema
- Why one woman and her son were kicked off a plane for their skin condition
- Solutions & strategies to deal with humiliation from eczema
- How meditations, therapy and self-love can help the eczema healing process

Some of the stories in this episode were pretty emotional to share, so I hope this episode can help you if you're going through eczema and dermatitis.

P.S. At the beginning of the podcast, I also started by sharing about 2 brands that reached out to offer me a paid partnership. I turned it down because their ingredients weren't as "clean" as I'd hoped for.

Here is a new episode for my new "Encouragement Series" from The Eczema Podcast to let you know that having eczema is not your fault. You may have blamed yourself, felt shame or embarrassment from having eczema and dermatitis, but nothing that's happened to you is your fault.

It's not your fault that you suffer with this.
It's not your fault that you have eczema on your body.
It's not your fault that it interferes with your daily activities, or that you feel different from other people who don't have to go through this.

Hopefully a message like this will help you feel less alone and also encourage you to not give up.

This is the first segment from my new Encouragement Series on this podcast to encourage you that you're not alone in this journey. I plan to make this a regular series on my podcast for all of you. I was inspired to make this because of all the daily messages that I receive from people who feel discouraged from battling eczema, dermatitis, or topical steroid withdrawal (TSW), and also because I understand how difficult this journey can be. I hope that this message like this will help you feel less alone and also encourage you to not give up.

If we have the chance, we may also do a follow-up podcast with him or another practitioner regarding topical steroid withdrawal, because it is such a popular topic these days. I hope you enjoy today's episode.

In today’s episode, you’ll learn how rejection, trauma, and stress may be flaring up or causing your eczema.

You'll also learn things like:

  • why relationships may be flaring you up
  • why changing your diet, adding supplements, and seeing doctors aren't helping you heal
  • learn an amazing story about a woman who couldn't eat any gluten and was finally able to eat gluten again after emotionally healing
  • find out my personal story of how relationships affected my skin (and how relationships may be affecting yours too).

Our guest today is Dr. Nima Rahmany, a chiropractor and Mental & Health Optimization Coach, who discovered that most illnesses stem from a past traumatic event. After 15 years as a chiropractor, Dr. Nima found that most of his patients came to see him for various issues that stemmed from stress. However, he became increasingly frustrated when chiropractic care alone could not address why people got sick, stressed, and stuck.

Fascinated by the various healing methodologies he had studied for more than 20 years, he formulated The Overview Method™. Today, he dedicates his life to studying and teaching principles of healing the mind and body to overcome stress. He spread his message through speaking and working in one-on-one sessions with people across the globe.

Dec 5, 2016

Today’s podcast interview is all about giving hope to eczema sufferers around the world.

In this episode, I had the privilege of connecting with Julie Block, the CEO of the National Eczema Association to learn more about why 2015 is a year of hope for those suffering with eczema.

As someone who used to suffer from such incredibly severe eczema for so long before, I felt so alone during the process and I can’t believe that I never looked into the National Eczema Association during my flare ups. To be honest, I had no idea what they did and what resources they had on hand for someone like me.

During the interview, I was so touched by Julie’s passion and care to help those suffering from eczema. It’s so great to know that a CEO invests so much in helping with eczema and really wants to help people overcome it! There’s nothing better than having someone lead an organization who really cares about it.

WHAT WE COVER IN TODAY’S EPISODE:

  • Why eczema sufferers should feel hopeful in the upcoming year
  • Resources that they offer children and adult eczema sufferers
  • Research that the National Eczema Association is conducting
